Posted on Mon, 16 Nov 2015
Question: I have pain in my left heel, it feels like I am walking on a rock. My lower back is stiff and in moderate pain but not as severe as the heel mostly just stiff. It also feels like a strong pulse in the bottom of my left foot but the pulsating is not painful and not 100% of the time. The heel pain and back stifness started in the last 3 days. I have been getting muscle twitching for 2 weeks now in my legs and my left eye. What could it be? My general practioner sent me to a neurologist and my appointment is in 14 days.

Brief Answer:
Plantar fascitis, Disc prolapse

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

Do you have any shooting pain from the lower back to the back of the thighs and legs ?

Any tingling or numbness ?

It is possible that the pain in the feet is die to Plantar fascitis. Important thing is to stretch your calf muscles with a simple exercise. Place the palms of your outstretched hands on the wall, bend the knee of the nearby knee and straighten the knee of the leg behind. Keep this position for 2 minutes and repeat it for the other side.

Take pain killer and muscle relaxant combination like Tablet Diclofenac and Thicolchicoside combination twice a day for 5 days after meals. Avoid bending forward or lifting weights. The muscle spasms could be due to a disc prolapse in the lower spine, which requires an Xray and MRI.

Kindly rape to my queries for me to be in a better position to help you.

No shooting pains. M back is still very stiff and the twitching is still happening often but the pain in the heel is not bothering me right now. The heel pain seems to come and go. I have no tingling or numbness at least not a noticable amount. XXXX

Not sciatica. B complex vitam8n and Calcium, Manganese deficiencies possibl

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

This indicates that you do not have symptoms of nerve compression in the lower back.

You could be having vitamin and mineral deficiencies like B complex vitamin deficiency and Manganese and Calcium deficiencies.

You could take Multivitamin tablet and Calcium with Vitamin D tablet for a month. Drink plenty of water. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables.

Apply hot water bag to the areas of cramps or muscle spasm for relief.

Brief Answer:
Needs to be examined

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

The swelling needs to be evaluated for any conclusion to be made on its diagnosis.

If it is hard then it could be a bony swelling like an osteomalacia, or it could be a lymph node.

If it's painful, apply ice and get it seen by your Doctor.
