Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I have taken note of your query and I have understood it.

I would like to gather more information from you in order to be able to guide you better..

-Is it diffuse or patchy?

-How long since you started noticing hair fall?

-How severe it is? How many hair strands do you lose per day?..less than 50 strands; 50-100 strands Or more than 100 strands per day?

-Does it involve mainly the front and crown part of the scalp, sparing the sides?

-Is there a family history of baldness?

-Do you notice that your anterior hair line has receded over the years and do you notice that angles of anterior hair line have become wider and deeper?

-Do you have any scalp lesion like scaly papules, dandruff etc?

- Can you upload a few Images depicting the severity and pattern of hair loss? Click a few Images from front, top and from the sides.

Hello sir,

These questions are quite technical for me to answer, i have sent few pics to the email id which you shared.

Its been almost a year since i started noticing hair fall, back then i did not take it seriously. But now i am very scared and want to solve this problem as soon as possible. I think in a day i am losing 50-100 hair strands.

Brief Answer:
Androgenetic alopecia; topical minoxidil and oral finasteride

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

I have reviewed the images.

You seem to have androgenetic alopecia.
Hair loss is mainly from the frontal part of scalp and vertex of scalp and there also seems to be receding anterior hair line

Treatment modalities include topical minoxidil 5% solution, to be applied on scalp skin, twice daily and oral finasteride, once daily.

Minoxidil solution should be applied twice daily i.e morning and evening, at scalp skin with the help of a dropper.
It should be applied only in recommended quantity i.e 1 ml, twice daily.
Start applying from the center of scalp and move outwards covering all of the affected area.
It should be applied after shampoo on absolutely clean scalp. Avoid hair oil.
Hair should be air dried after shampoo i.e minoxidil should not be applied on wet scalp.
The solution dries quickly and the medicine is allowed to act on scalp. It should not be washed over.

Regards
