Question: 52 year old male Australian living in Tonga.
Has headache on one side,part lockjaw (can only open mouth half way) Nasal mucus and sore neck glands.

Based on your description , it could be related to a TMJ ( Temporo Mandibular Joint) disorder. The unilateral headache, nasal mucus and lymphadenopathy indicate an infection e.g. sinusitis , pharyngitis or tonsillitis. Vaccination history should be obtained especially in terms of tetanus vaccine. A Blood pressure measurement should be done and the patient should be examined for any focal neurological deficit that may indicate a stroke. An oral physician should also examine the patient to assess for any dental causes e.g a gum infection. If these causes are ruled out then TMJ can be treated with NSAIDs like piroxicam and relaxants such as chlorzoxazone.
