Suggest Treatment For Headaches And Nausea

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Jan 2017
Question: I have a headache that isn't helped by taking medicine. I was taking a dose of wellbutrin of 300mg but was getting nausea and headaches. I lowered it to 150mg and will see my Dr on Tuesday. But today this headache isn't letting up. Is it from me lowering the wellbutrin or something else? Withdrawal? I wasn't on wellbutrin very long but felt worse taking it. I also take 10mg of lexapro.I have neck and shoulder pain too.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms are likely due to drug side effects

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible. First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately.

Based on the history you have shared, both the headache and nausea are common side effects of the welbutrin itself. One common way is to continue the drug as it can cause reduction in the intensity of these symptoms gradually.

If symptoms are very severe and nausea or vomiting alter directly with food intake and compromises on Daily life activities, reduction in dose and tapering it to stop it is the best solution. Slowly tapering the dose will decrease the withdrawl symptoms as these both can also worsen in case of suddenly stopping the drug. Gradually reduce the dose and consult your primary physician to discuss for alternative or completely stopping it.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
