Question: i have chronic sinusitis and i have this pressure/headache pretty much every day. i sometimes get the pain the back towards the top of my head. It only lasts for a few seconds. I read that a tumor can be associated with this. Is this normal for my issue?

Brief Answer:
Headache secondary to chronic sinusitis or muscular spasms...

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for posting the query

The symptoms described by you could be either related to the sinusitis per se or inadvertent muscular spasms. I doubt any tumors.

As you have mentioned that you are suffering from chronic sinusitis; the blockage of the posterior ethmoidal or sphenoidal sinuses can give rise to the above symptoms.

Inadvertent spasms of temporal or neck muscles can also cause similar headache.

If you are apprehensive, you can request your doctor for a CT scan of the paranasal sinuses and the brain. This can help us in identifying the root cause of your problems.

Hope this answers your query; revert back to me if you have any follow-up queries.
