Suggest Treatment For Haemorrhagic Cyst In Right Ovary

Question: I am 33 yrs old weighing 58 kg n 5'5". I have been married in 2008 and hv a 4 yr old son.I hd concieved normally.I have been recently diagnosed with haemorrhagic cyst in right ovary measuring 30x25 mm.my blood pressure is 150/90 although T3,T4,TSH, FSH & Lh test are normal.One of the doc.suggested for loprscopic surgery while the other 3 month course of XXXXXXX There's occassional pain in my right leg and problem of flatulence.What would you suggest.

Brief Answer: HORMONES CAN BE TAKEN, AND REPEAT SCAN DONE Detailed Answer: Hello You have mentioned just one cyst, while the scan mentions two haemorrhagic cysts. Also, in the doctor's prescription, I can see that he has prescribed you with hormonal medication for a month, and asked for repeat scan after your next period. I totally agree with the treatment prescribed. Please take the medication as indicated for a month. SOmetimes, these small sized cysts respond to the hormones, and spontaneously regress or dissolve. If the repeat scan shows the same sized cysts or increase in size / number of cysts, then laparoscopic cyst removal should be carried out. The hormones can also be taken for 2 - 3 months, and you can wait for this while having regular scan every month for the cysts. Take care.
