Question: Thank you. My gums on the upper right have been amazingly painful for the past three days. No bleeding, even when I floss. I am thinking that the nerve may be exposed. How is that nerve exposure treated?

Brief Answer:
Depends on the cause..

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Pain in gums is commonly seen due to deep gum infection or there is also a possibility that either your teeth have become sensitive in that area or any deep tooth decay..

You should first of all consult a Dentist so that he can check clinically to find out what is exactly causing you the symptoms..

If required an x ray can be done of that area..

For now you can apply Lidocaine jelly over the gums to relieve pain..
Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
Do warm saline gargle..

This will give you temporary relief till you get yourself evaluated..

Please write back for more queries..

Regards.
