Suggest Treatment For Groin Pain Due To Nerve Damage

default
Posted on Thu, 25 Sep 2014
Question: Hello, PLEASE help. I suffer from chronic pain caused by a doctor who did a surgery. I have burning pain in my groin from nerve damage. I have been to pain doctor, neurologists, anesthesiologists. It took several years to find a combo that let me live...now with all the new laws those of us who actually have chronic pain are treated like drug addicts. I am really to the point if I cant get this pain under control, I don't want to live like this. HELP!!! I am a nurse and I would never let my patients suffer the way I do.

It happened during the surgery.

No tingling or numbness

Pain with anything, it is always there.

Darvocet, Daypro, Ultram, tramadol, Norco, XXXXXXX valium, toradol, Xanax-lyrica
Neurontin

I had a hyster and my left ovary was left in so 1 yr later had to have the ovary removed and that is when it all started. As soon as I got out of bed post op I felt like a hot poker was being jammed into my groin. That is what I feel every day!!

Brief Answer:
Meralgia Paresthesia is a possibility.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
With your description it seems you have Meralgia Paresthesia. Important here is to rule out diabetes and Thyroid. If not checked get tested.
You have already taken a lot of pain killers.
In such scenario I advise only a few medicines as follows:
1. Duloxetine to start with 20 mg once a day.
2. A combination of Pregabalin 150 mg and Methylcobalamine 1500 microgram once a day in night.
3. To take Tablet Tramadol as on when required basis.
Start with these and revert back after 1 month.
Don't have expect any magical effect.
Effect would take time.
If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.

well I know it is not that, the neuro MD said it was a damaged predunal nerve and I am tired of trying things that don't work especially when it was manageable until the new laws started. I am tired of spending money on things that do not work. I really understand now why people resort to street drugs and why there are so many heroin overdoses and deaths nowadays. All I know is I am tired of the pain and will not continue to live like the..This is NOT living!
