Question: Hi Doctor,
I was diagnosed by an ophthalmologist as having Glaucome 4 weeks ago and was using Lumigan RC eye drops. 2 days ago had very bad right eye pain and saw an optometrist who diagnosed Iritis and prednisolone acetate 1% and Mydriacy.

Should I take these eye drops and would it affect my glaucoma?

Brief Answer:
You can take these eye drops.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr Dadapeer k an ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.
I reviewed your history.

It seems from the history that you are on treatment with Lumigan RC eye drops for glaucoma.
The presence of pain in right eye indicates inflammation of the eye and treatment by the use of prednisolone acetate and Mydriacy eye drops is indicated for treatment of inflammations like uveitis.

Uveitis or inflammation of the eye is one of the side effect of the prostaglandin eye drops. Lumigan RC contains Bimatoprost a prostaglandin.
Hence we need to rule out whether this is because of Lumigan RC eye drops or not.

Hence you can take these eye drops but we need to rule out side effects of Lumigan Rc eye drops.
Hence you need to consult your ophthalmologist for examination.

Do write back to me after you consult your ophthalmologist.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you

Brief Answer:
No need to stop Lumigan RC.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for the follow up question.

You need to continue Lumigan RC and Prednisolone and Mydriacy eye drops.

But when you consult your ophthalmologist you need to rule out side effects of Lumigan RC eye drops.
Lumigan RC eye drops are required for treatment of glaucoma and should not be stopped until substituted by alternative eye drops.

Hence I advice you to continue all the eye drops and do consult your ophthalmologist and do get back to me after consultation.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
