Brief Answer: Pain abdomen can be due to various causes Detailed Answer: Hi, I appreciate your concern regarding your pain abdomen. There are various causes of pain in region of stomach. I would appreciate if you could provide a detailed history of your complains. Most common cause of such a pain is Acid Peptic Disease or Gallstones. I case you have symptoms like heartburn ,retrosternal pain or regurgitation ,it might be due to gastroesophageal reflux disease. You can try making lifestyle modifications like weight loss(in case you are overweight),avoid large meals, aviod lying down immediately after meals and keep your head in elevated position while sleeping. Alongwith you can try taking Antacids and H2 Receptor antagonists.Aviod oily and spicy foods, Drink plenty of water. In case you have pain in abdomen after intake of food especially fatty meals, then we need to rule out gallstones. . Hope it helps.kindly ask in case of any clarification. Dr. Kavita Paul
