Brief Answer:
Delay the surgery for at least week

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I can understand your concern toward's your mother's health.
1) Presence of stone inside gall bladder + wall thickness of bladder indicate presence of infection/inflammation on bladder wall around bladder area. Due to this gall bladder will be densely stuck to all neighboring areas which make surgery difficult.
2) This condition is known as acute cholecystitis due to gall stones and in this condition surgery must be done by laparoscopy and within first 48 hours of development of symptoms. Otherwise surgery must be delayed for at least a week to resolve inflammation.
3) Before undergo surgery - check liver function, age of patient, other associated diseases (hypertension, diabetes, blood thinning medications).
4) Emergency gall bladder surgery for stones is recommended only if there will be suspicion of rupture of gall bladder and for this bladder would be enlarged. But in your mother's case bladder is normal size which is less likely to rupture.

'Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help you

Brief Answer:
surgery is best.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Some literature has published favorable results of dissolution of gall stone with medications. but this is for stone size less than 5mm, and for cholesterol type of stones.
Ideally surgery is best choice for gall stones as it remove gall bladder with stones so in future also there is no risk for re-development of stones.

Brief Answer:
antibiotics and surgery remove gall bladder also

Detailed Answer:
Yes, for infection/inflammation antibiotic injections will be used.
In surgery, gall bladder will also be removed. This does not have any consequences on food metabolism in future as function of gall bladder is just to store bile which was formed in liver
