Question: I have been experiencing gallbladder pain. I went to ER a week ago and they did ultrasound. Said I had an 8mm stone. I bought and have been using a gallbladder cleanse for 3 days, and then read where it could be dangerous. I am having some pain tonight and I'm very scared.

Brief Answer:
You should perhaps consider going for surgery.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

It seems that the stone in the gall bladder is the cause of the abdominal pain that you are experiencing. Although gall bladder clensers are sold in the market, it is not clinically proven whether they are effective. I doubt whether you should use it. However, I am not expecting any definite 'danger' and so you need not worry.

Since the gall bladder stone is small, there are chances of it passing down the common bile duct. But in case it gets stuck, the condition would suddenly worsen and would complicate the situation. So, perhaps going for a surgery should be a better idea. Visit a surgeon and discuss the options. A laparoscopic surgery is less invasive and you can be back home at the end of the same day, or at the most next day.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
