Brief Answer:
Fungal infection is a possibility

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

The patches could be fungal infection.
You may apply an antifungal cream twice daily for atleast 4 weeks. ( Miconazole or Ketoconazole or Clotrimazole) . But If the lesions are extensive, you may need to use a tablet. Commonly Fluconazole is used. Make sure that your liver functions are normal before you use this. It will need a prescription anyway. If the lesions doesnt disappear with application of antifungal creams then you may need a skin biospy or skin scrapping to diagnose it.

Do you have diabetes ? Do you use steroids for any reason ??

Binu
