Suggest Treatment For Frequent Urination

Posted on Thu, 4 May 2017
Question: My husband has been having frequent urination since Friday, April 7, 2017 at 10:00am.
I have counted the times he went and measured the amount of each urination. From Fri. toSunday 4/9/17 he has urinated 61 times, going a total of 7080cc, which means he goes a little over 100cc each time. On Saturday at bedtime his urine got to be darker in color and by Sunday morning it started to have an odor to it. He has been drinking about 8oz of water every 3-4 hours, eating well. Has no pain or burning. His Temp. was 98.1 at 11:20am 4/9/17 and 98.2 at 1:40pm.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your question on HCM

I do understand your pain and discomforts

As per your clinical history let me clarify all your points in detail:-

1)he has frequent urination it means he is unable to finish all urination at a time so, it has many pathological causes out of them many are due to infections only and some are not due to infections, so as he has no pain and burning signs so we can not go in favor of any infection points right now. So do PSA[prostate-specific antigen test] and an ultrasound prostate.if already done at hospital then you can share reports here.

2)Regarding color and odor of urine i may say if not due to infection then it may be due to drugs only. So to confirm you may do urine examination[RE/ME/culture].

3)Regarding his body temperature i may say he has normal body temperature which is good and may not be an infection.

So please follow me with reports

Hope that helps

Did go to ER. Temp went up to 100.8 in 2 hours . Urinary tract infection did return & Cipro was ordered for this. Frequency is continuing, but only about half as many times as before. Can an ultrasound be done of the prostate? What causes bladder infections in men ?

As per your problem is concerned please admit him if temperature is increasing and at hospital they will add antibiotics in IV. Do an urine culture if any positive findings' comes then intimate your doctor. Do ultrasound after infection is controlled.
