default
Posted on Tue, 16 Aug 2016
Question: Okay so Ive had frequent urination for a month now i went to the doctor and they found a uti it seemed to calm the urge until i finished the medicine it would come back. So i went back and they checked my urine and didnt find a infection so they did a pap to test me for std or other infections but they didnt find anything so the following week it seemed like it went away then this mid week i feel again the urge to go many times a day when i go i then i feel like i have to urinate again when i walk i feel it worse and when i sit when i sleep i have to wake up twice to go.

Can it be IC painful bladder syndrome ?
Or a uncontrolable bladder?
Is there anything i can do to feel better until i get checked again?
Does the Azo bladder control pills work?
It feels so uncomforble i just want to feel like myself again and do things i uaually do

Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question. I am sorry to hear that you are continuing to have urinary bladder symptoms. I have a couple of thoughts regarding what might be going on.

One possibility is that you may be prone to develop urinary tract infection's. These can cause mild symptoms or sometimes significant symptoms of frequency and urgency. Sometimes physicians will have patients take an antibiotic on a daily basis for a few weeks or a fewmonths at a time to see if this helps to alleviate the symptoms over a long period of time

Another possibility is that your bladder is somehow hyperactive or overactive. There are certain medications that are available that hope to alleviate this aspect of bladder function and might lead to significant improvement of quality-of-life.

I am confident that you will feel back to yourself once this issue is appropriately dressed. Please contact your primary care doctor to talk about a possible course of antibiotics and a consideration of medication that might be used to control and overactive bladder.

Thank you again for sending the question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
