Posted on Sat, 5 Jul 2014
Question: Im not sure if previous question worked. I have had tonsillitis for the last 4 days. Fever for about 70 hours. Yesterday i noticed a bite or tiny, shiny, red cyst filled with clear liquid on my scrotum. I tried to pop it which was painful and today it is white and bigger. It is around a hair follicle.

Brief Answer:
Oral and topical antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

I can understand your concern regarding the skin condition.
As per the keen review of your picture and history, it seems you have got folliculitis or sebaceous cyst with secondary infection.
Anyways at now the condition is infected so it has to be dealt with first.

I would advise you 5-7 days treatment of oral antibiotics like cefadroxil and clavulanic acid or amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Analgesics like panadol should be taken thrice a day for few days.
Apply mupirocin cream thrice a day over affected area.

Seitz bath or sitting in lukewarm water of tub thrice a day will also provide so relief.
After complete resolution in one week try to post me follow up picture so that we can know if there is any sebaceous cyst or not.

Hope you will be fine soon,

Thank you and take care,

Brief Answer:
Penicillin should work

Detailed Answer:
Well Penicillin should work. If after five days, there is no response consider changing to antibiotics I have suggested. You should start topical antibiotics for today itself.
