Question: I am going batty with all these floaters in my eye..I have been checked twice by a retinal specialist...no tears or retinal detachment..but still the flashes and floaters continue..this is making me so anxious..will they ever go away? It is hard to drive..I think there are bugs in my car! Will they get reabsorbed? Will stress make this condition worse?

Sorry I had already asked this question please disregard....please cancel

Brief Answer:
Vitrectomy is the best option.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for asking query.
I can very well understand the level of frustation you must be feeling.
Some solutions to your present condition are-

As they are annoying you a lot you, try to get them out of your field of vision. Move your eyes frequently this shifts the fluid around. Look up and down, that usually works better than side to side. This will move floaters out of your visual field.

Plan for vitrectomy. Vitrectomy is surgery to remove some or all of the vitreous humor from the eye. Anterior vitrectomy entails removing small portions of the vitreous humor from the front structures of the eye often because these are tangled in an intraocular lens or other structures. Pars plana vitrectomy is a general term for a group of operations accomplished in the deeper part of the eye, all of which involve removing some or all of the vitreous humor the eye's clear internal jelly. As bitreous humor is replaced by salt solution the floaters will go away and you will feel much relieved.
stress will make problem worse therefore its the time when you should go for vitrectomy. At this stage vitrectomy is the best option for you.

Regards.

The risks are too high for that surgical procedure.. Did I bring all this on because of stress.. I have had lots of it! Will the floaters dissolve over time .. How about the flashes? Does blood pressure affect the floaters thanks!

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
No stress can be a precipitating factor but only stress can't cause this problem.
The real pathology behind floaters is still unknown however in most of the cases it is either age related or idiopathic(cause unknown).
No blood pressure has no direct relation with floaters.
As you don't want yo ho for surgery only option we have is to wait and watch.
