Suggest Treatment For Fibromyalgia

Posted on Mon, 21 Mar 2016
Question: I certainly appreciate the time you took. my zip code is 00000. That's in Pottstown, Pa USA. I think I might have found someone hopefully called Tri-County Pain management. I am 63yrs old and have been on the same meds since 1999. I was aflicked with Fibromyalgia in 1996 and had my breast implants taken out which was the last straw for my (ex) husband after dealing with me waking up crying IWas in so much pain. I also have Rynaud's
I am deaf but hearing aids are some help. I have mental problems which started very early in life but never got under control till new meds came out in the 90's. All that to tell you I DO NOT LIKE ANYONE MESSING WITH MY MEDS!!!!
I would still like the information about what to ask this doctor or how can I walk into a pain management when I look so good. Will he believe me? I do not look like I did before my acupuncture treatments in 1999-2002. I am terrified he will not believe that I have Fibromyalgia. Should I not wear a patch for 2 wks before I go? I'm serious. I don't know how to go to someone new.
Can you help me with that? XXXXXXX XXXX

Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
I would not suggest you to fake any symptoms when you visit a doctor.
I would suggest you to take all the previous records ( investigation and prescription) when you visit a doctor, and on examination and by going through previous records if the doctor feels that the drug is beneficial to you they will prescribe. I would suggest you to leave the decision to doctor, as he will prescribe it only if it is beneficial to you.

Hope this helps.
Take care.

Besides my doctors office faxing them my chart, do you think I should take the notes from settt suit about the breast implants. I won a settlement from the manufacturer but it also has my charts from 1996 to aprox.2010. I never thought to do that.
And let me make one thing clear if you reread my query to you I was not going to FAKE anything. I said I would go without having wore the patch for like 2 wks. That would put me back right where I started, IN PAIN That was my entire sum of my question HOW WOULD A NEW DOCTOR KNOW HOW MUCH PAIN I CAN E IN WITHOUT THE MEDICATION. My entire problem is I don't want to fake anything but how would they know what the pain could be like. I all the time worry whether doctors believe me since when I got Fibroymalgia no doctor believed the diagnosis.
So you see what you wrote back is exactly how I don't want someone to see me just like you saw me. Wanting drugs

Hi
Welcome.
Sorry for that, but I would not suggest you to stop any medication, they are prescribed for your own benefits. Continuing the course will advised.
So kindly take the records as mentioned earlier, everything related to you health would be good. Doctor based on your examination and by going through the previous records, he will take a decision which will be in the best interest of yours.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
