Question: my baby of 1.5 years old suffering with fever, loose motions and vomiting from yesterday evening, we have given p250 syrup once.....what is the possible treatment
we have given p250 - 0.25ml and XXXXXXX for cold 0.5 ml

The most common cause of fever with loose stool and cough/cold in this age is some viral infection.
The main aim of management is to prevent dehydration and symptomatic treatment of cough and cold.
The average weight of 1.5 year's old child is about 10 kg.
The dose of paracetamol is 10-15 mg / kg / dose.5 ml of P 125 contains 125 mg of paracetamol.So the dose would be 5 ml.You can repeat the dose every 6-8 hourly depending on the situation.
Similarly dose of XXXXXXX would also be 3.5-5 ml per dose 3-4 times a day.
Give plenty of fluids (ORS ) to prevent dehydration.
Giving probiotic and zinc will help in early recovery.
Observe for any increase in symptoms,if there is any decreased activity,decreased frequency of urination or poor feeding and if you notice any consult your doctor immediately.
