Suggest Treatment For Fever, Body Aches And Cough

Question: I went to urgent care on Tuesday because I woke up with body aches, a low grade fever of 99.5, congestation and cough. I took Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday off of work, I work four days on and 2 days off as a CNA at an assisted living place. Friday is the last day of my four day rotation, is it wrong to take it off when I'm getting better, but I have gone out a couple times to run an errand on the days I took off and wanted to pass out.

Your history mimics Viral fever.
Dont worry, viral fever is self limiting.It takes its own time to resolve.
For bodyache and fever you can taketablet paracetamol.
You have to take thrice daily for 2 to 3 days.
For cold cough and congestion you can take tab like Citrezine twice daily for 3 days and antibiotic Tab Azithromycin once daily for 3 days.As these medications are available on prescription you may need to meet local General physician.If require doctor may asks for basic blood tests.
Take rest properly
Drink plenty of water/fluids.
Have soft diet

Rest and hydration are important in viral fever.
If you are physically fit enough to go and work from tomorrow you can.If you are still feeling tire/ weakness you can take off tomorrow.
usually in viral fever weakness will lasts up to 15 days.

One more question, you're saying that three days isn't enough to recover from viral fever? And is it possible to get a doctors note from you? Or can I call my primary doctor and speak to the triage nurse to get a doctors note for Friday as the doctor from urgent care would only do it for three days?

As viral fever is self limiting, it depends on each individual immunity.If immunity is good, person can get cured within 3 days.If you are feeling good enough to work you can go ahead. Otherwise you can extend the leave for 1 more if possible.
