Brief Answer:
needs investigations

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to health care magic.
Persistent fever for 5 days needs investigations to rule out common illness like chest infection , dengue, malaria and typhoid.
Your child may need antibiotics. I usually prescribe amoxicillin for such patients till the blood reports and chest xray is done.
You can continue the medicines which your doctor has prescribed but any fever for 5 days in a one year old child needs further evaluation.
If your child is vomiting, youay add emeset 3ml before each feed which is what I recommend to my patients .
Regarding food, try plenty of liquids even if your child is unable to eat solids. Avoid oily or spicy foods. Bland diet soft to eat is preferable.
Wishing your child speedy recovery.
Regards
Dr Arun
