Suggest Treatment For Fever And Body Pain
Question: i have a fever that fluctuates btw 101-102 and body aches, but no other symptoms. Should i go to the dr or assume it is a viral bug that will pass.

I appreciate your concern
If there is a focus of infection such as a sore throat, runny nose , cough, burning urination etc associated with the fever then its more likely to be a bacterial infection that would require antibiotics. If there is no such focus, even then the abdomen and lymph nodes should be examined. Blood counts can be done especially with respect to your history of breast cancer to look for a raised TLC with left shift / increased polys, indicating an acute bacterial infection. I would advise you to go to your doctor. If none of the above causes are found and the tests are normal then supportive treatment alone with Tylenol or advil and plenty of fluids should suffice.
