Suggest Treatment For Fever After Unprotected Sex
Question: I had unprotected sex on May 23 with my BF of a year and 8 days later I feel a slight fever and that's it. 100 does that mean I have HIV?

Fever could be due to a number of causes and most common include infection. If your BF's HIV status is known then it would confirm it. Most common symptoms of HIV include:
- swollen lymph glands.
- unusual lesions on the tongue; skin rashes and bumps.
- nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
- cough
- chronic fatigue.
- fever, chills, and night sweats.
- rapid weight loss.
I would suggest you to relax and take acetaminophen for fever. If you observe unusual symptoms then we can proceed further to rule it out.

In that case i would strongly suggest you to relax and do not think about this as your partner is HIV -ve. There is no chance to get infection with a negative HIV partner. You should continue with your daily routine and do not think about it. Multiple diseases have similar symptoms and only concerned doctor can identify & correlate it. Your fever is most probably due to some viral infection that will resolve itself in soon with antipyretics like acetaminophen.
