Suggest Treatment For Eustachian Tube Dysfunction

default
Posted on Mon, 20 Apr 2015
Question: Hi
I have been suffering with ETD for nearly ten years. I'm sixty years old. I have the T tube in my right ear. When the tube gets displaced the fluid builds up.
From reading it seems that I shouldn't be suffering so long with this problem. Is there a recommended doctor I can see about this problem. I live in New York.
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Nasal endoscopy, CT Scan, BDT.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. A nasal endoscopy and CT imaging should be done to check why the ETD on the right side is not healing with the ventilation tube.

2. Do you have and audiometry results from previous tests which can be uploaded? The treatment over the past 10 years does not seem to have worked.

3. Balloon Dilatation Tuboplasty (BDT) is a new procedure that may help.

4. You may contact Dr. XXXXXXX H. Levine MD at the XXXXXXX Nasal Sinus/Sleep Center 29001 Cedar Rd Ste 615 XXXXXXX OH 44124 (440) 684-9980. He is also VP Acclarent, XXXXXXX & XXXXXXX a leading firm in balloon technology.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
