Brief Answer:
Your problem is psychological in origin likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to us.

In young age most of the cases of erectile dysfunction (ED) are psychological in origin.

You have problem in erection. In general when there is problem in erection for at least 6 months during most of the sexual attempts erectile dysfunction (ED) is diagnosed. Your problem is there only since 10 days.
Your testosterone level is normal. So no physical cause is likely there for ED.

As you were involved with higher frequency of masturbation/sexual activity it is possible that your genital musculature got fatigued.
I think you should avoid sexual activity/masturbation for 2 weeks. You can resume masturbation after that without help of medicines.

Sometime due to fatigue, lack of mood, situational problem or environmental changes erection problem occurs and man can fail in sex. It is normal phenomenon. However when this failure makes person apprehensive about erection, sex life is affected. This is called performance anxiety. After such failure when person actively thinks about erection or success of intercourse during sex his mind is likely diverted to such thoughts. For constant erection continuous exciting/romantic/erotic feelings should be there in mind. If mind diverted to concern about erection, erection would not be possible.

- Let me know if you have performance anxiety or not.

To help you further answer following questions.

- Is morning erection present when you wake up?

- Do you have any physical illness? If yes describe details with medicines.

- Is there any history of smoking or alcohol?

- Is there any difficulty in urinating?(to check for prostate problem)

- Do you have any psychological/stress related problem?

I will be happy to help you further after your response.

i think that was the origin of my anxiety, I started to read that a morning erection must be present if everything is normal and I don't really remember morning erection. Is it possible that i wake up after morning erection? I started to wake several times throughout the night now, since I am really stressed about this. When i wake up at night, I check my penis area and there seems to be a 70% level erection, not 100 % hard.

I was diagnosed with general anxiety disorder and now started to take buproprion 150 mg extended release. Doc said gives it 4-6 weeks to work and im am 10 days in,

Once something gets into my head, I can't get it out and stop thinking about it and i think is what it is. What i believe would help me is a urologist checkup and assurance that no physical cause is present.

no smoking and occasional alcohol.

No difficulty urinating, but seems like i want to urinate for often now (probably again because of anxiety)

I really think its performance anxiety and just want help to get it out my head so i can continue with my life.

Brief Answer:
it is confirm that no physical problem is there

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for detail information.

Your history clearly suggests that you are just over concerned.

Morning erection does not present always and that is also not full erection like during sex or masturbation always. Your misinterpretation regarding morning erection started the problem. Checking your erection frequently clearly suggests that you are much anxious.

Apart from that you are on treatment for general anxiety disorder. Bupropion is good drug which does not affect erection.

I am sure that urologist check-up will come normal.

In my opinion you should consult psychiatrist if not consulted yet. With medicines Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) will help to solve your anxiety problem.

If still any query there, I will be happy to answer. If not, you can close the discussion and if feasible give your feedback and rating so I can improve my service. In future you can contact me directly on this site if you wish with this link:
