Suggest Treatment For Elevated SGOT, SGPT And GGT Levels
Question: My GGT, SGOT & SGPT is very high from the normal levels. I drink alcohol only on weekends.

High SGOT,SGPT and GGT may indicate liver injury.
It may be due to many reasons like hepatitis,alcohol intake,altered lipid profile,medicines,auto immune causes etc.
It may be due to alcohol intake and fatty liver in your case.
You may need clinical evaluation and few more investigations like viral markers and ultrasound of abdomen.
I suggest tablet UrsoDeoxyCholic Acid 300 mg tablet twice daily for three months to my patients. It helps in regeneration of liver cells.
You may need few more medicines after complete evaluation.
Avoid alcohol completely and take lot of fibers in our diet.
Go for brisk walk regularly and avoid saturated fat.
Other findings are acceptable.
Get well soon.

I have done Hepatatis B test also and the results is negative. Which test will detect gallstones or primary biliary cirrhosis?
Can you also prescribe me some medicines for Vitamin D, Zinc and Vitamin C tablets for health supplement?
I do have primary biliary cirrhosis symptoms like fatigue or a sense of being abnormally tired and, skin that itches. Because of the intense itching and scratching, the back skin have become darkened and discolored in some areas. I feel dry mouth and eyes some times. I also had a pinching sensation every two hours for a day at the right hand side lower rib cage.
Is there any side effects if I take UrsoDeoxyCholic Acid and these supplements simultaneously?

Ultrasound can detect cirrhosis,gall stones also.
I don't think you have findings of cirrhosis.In early stage of primary biliary cirrhosis,alkaline phosphatase(ALP) is also raised.
Itching may be due to some other reasons,it is important to exclude any skin causes.
Tiredness etc may be related to elevated liver enzymes.
You may need vitamin D supplementation.I advise my patients to take one vitamin D tablet weekly for eight weeks then one tablet can be taken once monthly for six months.
Patient should also take calcium rich foods like milk and its products.
You can also take calcium tablets.
You should also expose yourself to sunlight at least for five minutes daily.
Additionally you can take multi-vitamin capsules once daily.
There are no side effects of ursodexycholic acid tablets.
