I am dr.kakkar(dermatologist).

Dry eczema is usually chronic in nature. Treatment basically consists of moisturizer/emollients along with moderately potent to superpotent topical steroid creams/ointments e.g clobetasol propionate 0.05% Or halobetasol propionate 0.05%. In addition an oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg or levocetrizine 5mg,once or twice daily is useful for symptomatic relief from itching.
