Suggest Treatment For Ectopic Heart Beats And Palpitations

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Feb 2017
Question: Hello again Dr. Sharka! I hope all is well with you! I am still trying to figure out these palpitations that are just distracting. Currently waiting on vitamin/electrolyte tests to see if there is any connection there. You had offered to take a look at my echocardiogram. My doctor's office is still seeing if they can get a copy to me to share. In meantime, I actually discovered that investing in my own holter monitor was less expensive than using insurance and going through my doctor. And I am lucky enough to have nurse friends who taught me the correct placement of the 12 leads. :) I was hoping you could take a look. I did wear it for a full day the other day but I moved around a bit too much and I can see there was a lot of interference. I just did it again while laying on my couch watching TV for about an hour while I was experiencing the palpitation feel. The do seem to act up shortly after I eat and are more noticeable when laying down. Also, no anxiety was happening during this. Just me watching some TV,

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

I am glad to hear from you again on HCM!

I would be happy ti review your uploaded Holter images, if you can upload them for me to review.

It is true that anxiety can cause ectopic heart beats and palpitations but they occur in every normal person and do not indicate any serious medical condition.

Anyway the Holter recording during those episodes would help distinguish between a benign type of arrhythmia or a disorder.

Hope to have been helpful!

I remain at your disposal whenever you need.

Kind regards,

Dr.Iliri

Thanks! Working on getting the file size down. It is an .ecg file that is over the 2mb limit of the site. Unless you have an email I can email it to. Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Waiting for your uploaded medical tests.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

You can upload it here on the HCM site by using JPEG format (photo file), which could save a lot of mb size.

I would be glad to review your heart rhythm recordings and other available medical tests for a second professional opinion.

Anyway, if you can’t succeed on reducing actual file size you can try on YYYY@YYYY .

After that, let me know with a follow-up question on HCM site again to continue discussing the results.

I remain at your disposal for any further uncertainties.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

Brief Answer:
I couldn't open your uploaded file.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

I tried several times to open your uploaded file (0000.ecg) but none of my computer programs could support its format.

Please could you send it to me as a PDF format, in order to be possible for me to review?

Or, let me know which program should I use for reviewing your uploaded file?

Regards,

Dr. Iliri

Thanks! I sent over the file for the program that came with the Holter monitor that allows it to be opened and viewed. It may look like an email from DropBox as gmail would not allow me to email a program file.

Brief Answer:
Something doesn't work with the Holter program!

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

I tried several time to open the ECG file after installing the program you sent to me (12 Channels ECG Holter System_TF), but it is impossible.

The program asks repeatedly for USB file and doesn't recognize your ECG data.

May be some problems have occurred with the program while transferring it as a Dropbox file (it generally recognizes as photo data).

Please could you make some photos form Holter recordings and send me separately for a review here in HCM site or email for a review?

Waiting for your response!

Wishing you are having a pleasant weekend!

Greetings!

Dr. Iliri

I just uploaded 2 pdfs but they are only a tiny portion of the hour I was wearing it. Let me know if you have the ability to open any other ecg file formats. It saves it as a .ecg , .dat , .mrk, .pms~ , and .segN .

Also, if you are in that program I sent. You can not use File and then New. It will give you that error of the USB since it is looking for the Holter. Instead do file open old case and then find where you saved the ECG file to your computer. That is how I had to get it to view it.

Thanks!

Brief Answer:
The uploaded ECG recordings seem normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again, dear XXXX!

I followed your guidance and tried to open the previously uploaded .ecg file by using OpenOldCase, but again it doesn't work and instead shows a message:

"Database is not exist!" ???!!!!

I tried to open again in another computer (in order to rule any potential configuration firewall or system settings, that could impede from properly functioning), but the result was the same.

Regarding the two uploaded ECG recording would assure you that the heart rhythm is completely normal (normal sinus rhythm without any extrasystoles, no cardiac conductance disturbances, no tachycardia or arrhythmia).

Coming to this point, I would encourage you to find a way of sending me the entire ECG registration in PDF format (by converting ECG file to PDF); may be by utilizing a one channel ECG view and condensing more registrations in a paper, especially at those moments where you may have experienced palpitations.

I remain at your disposal for any available uploaded ECG data!

Regards,

Dr. Iliri
