Question: My granddaughter which is 11 years old underwent surgery yesterday due to a constant left ear infection. Apparently during the surgery the inner ear collapsed and know she has no hearing in the left ear. Can that be corrected in the future??

Brief Answer:
Hearing loss

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query
Sir it must be due to dressing in the ear that might be causing hearing difficulty. It is very rare that inner ear is damaged unless some surgical complication is there. My advice is you should wait for few days and than get a pure tone audiometry done to see if there is any hearing loss or what type of loss is it.
The decision of whether loss is correctable will depend on the reports.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Thanks and regards
