Brief Answer:
Some thoughts and suggestions which may help

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM,

I read your question and I understand your concern.

What you are describing seems more like an anxiety situation.
I'm not much concerned about a heart problem, considering your age and the fact that you are female.

I would need to know some information like:
- Do you smoke? Are you overwieght? Do you snore at night?

Sometimes in people who are overweight or obese its cause the sleeping apnea, people stop breathing during night, caugh and snore, and are tired during day because they have not slept well because of multiple wake ups. This is just a thought, but you know it best if that applies to yoi. I would recommend to have it checked though if its the case that you are overwight.

Some things that may help during the time in vacations are to drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself hydrated, stop smoking if you are a smoker, if you are allergic and the cough is dry then try using an antihistamin medicine that may help with the cough.

Check yourself when you go back home.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarification. I would be happy to answer.

Take care

Brief Answer:
An explanation of my thoughts on possible causes

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking a follow-up question.

I understand that sleep apnea may not be a cause of your cough and chest tightness, because your weight is not over.

Common causes of a chronic cough are:
-- Gastro-esophageal reflux. If you have stomach problems and you never took treatment for it then you need to do it. Acid sometimes goes in the lungs, causes cough and chest tightness.
-- Allergic cough. If you know you have seasonal allergies.
-- Rule out why you have the snoring if you are not overweight. An examination of the upper airways may tell you more.
-- After a good examination of the lungs, and if we rule out other causes of the cough, or chest tightness, then anxiety is the most possible cause of it.

In your age, and if you are a healthy person, and if yoi know that you have some anxiety, then its the most possible one. Read about its symptoms online.

Hope this is helpful.
Let me know how I can help you more.

Regards,
