Question: 43 y.o. male, high stress, fast paced work environment, recent family crisis that lasted about 6 months involving our children. Last few months been feeling stomach pain; felt like ulcer kind of stuff. Then last 2 weeks feeling stabbing pains and dull aches that move around my stomach. There is a kind of heat to the pain. The pain is steadily becoming more consistent and intense. Today, black stools. Easily overheat, but I live in the valley. Slight dizziness at times. Have doc. appt scheduled on Thursday. Any ideas? I'd like to begin research now on ways to support my health around this issue.

Brief Answer:
Stomach upset might be an ulcer.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.

You problem seems to be related to your stomach upset. It can might well be an ulcer.

In your case it might have happened due to three reasons.

1) Chronic stress:
Mental stress can cause stomach ulcers called as stress ulcers.
2) Disturbed food and sleep habits.
3) Use of any stomach irritant like smoking, pain killer use excess of caffein fizzy drinks or alcohol ( whay ever is relevant).

Here is what you can do even before visiting the doctor.

1) Try to get rid of mentak stress, although it's not easy to do sometimes hut try your best to distract yourself and keep near to normal if not normal.
2) Avoid any fizzy drinks, energy drink, alcohol, coffee caffeine and smoking(what ever is relevant).
3) Don't use fried of fast food.
4) Use simple vegetables, meat and fruits.
5) Use food with more fibre content.
6) You can use syrup gaviscon after when you have much pain or burning...or use it twice a day , this will nullify the stomach acid and will make you feel better.
7) After you visit your doctor he might prescribe some meds to counter acid production.
8) Dont use any pain killers except tylenol if much needed.

Hopefully things will get better for you real soon, and my suggestions will help you in quick recovery.
