Brief Answer:
Start Prebiotic and feed frequently

Detailed Answer:
hi,
Welcome to this forum. Can understand your concerns.

A 5 month old child can pass whitish yellow stools 3 to 4 times in a day in small amounts. But if the child is passing loose stools which are watery then it suggest stomach infection.

The main thing that we have to keep in mind during loose motions is dehydration. Feed child frequently so that dehydration does not occur.

in my opinion, prebiotic like enterogermina ampule can be given once a day for 3 days to increase intestine and immunity and normal flora.

ORS solution needs to be started if loose motions are watery and persists. if there is decreased activity, vomitings, persistent loose motion then child needs to be admitted in hospital.

start enterogermina ampule and feed child more frequently and get the child examined by a doctor as soon as possible so that we may not miss any important finding.

I hope this will help you. Wishing your child good health. Take care.
