Suggest Treatment For Diarrhea, Headache And Bad Taste In The Mouth
Question: I am a 44 year old female. I have been diagnosed with Ibs years ago, but mostly the constipation kind. I have had diarrhea, headache and horrible taste in my mouth for over a week now. I have no energy. Living on crackers , toast, brat diet. I don't believe at this point this is IBS because of the duration of the diarrhea and the bad taste in my mouth, but wondering if it could be a bacterial infection in my colon

I will like to know what the frequency(how many times a day) and nature (blood, mucus, consistency, volumes, etc) of this diarrhea is. Are you on any drugs for the IBS at this time? Because you mentioned a constipation kind, over used of laxatives in this case may explain why the diarrhea should you be on treatment.
I am not sure you may be having a bacterial infection the colon at this time. However, a stool test would be able to help address that worry if the above information is not suggestive of a possible cause.

4-6 times a day. Watery , mushy, a little bit of mucous no blood
