Posted on Thu, 19 Feb 2015
Question: Hi, for the past 2 days I have been having diarrhea when I wake up and when I go to sleep... the color of it is fairly pale. I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary but I did drink a lot 3 nights prior to this happening. Theres no other symptoms except for lots of gas and constant rumbling in my stomach. I am worried it could be a liver or kidney problem.

Brief Answer:
Irritation of stomach mucosa due to alcohol use...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation you are in.

From what you are describing, it seems that your symptoms are caused by irritation of stomach mucosa due to alcohol use.

I advise to :
- stop using alcohol
- take probiotics to normalize intestinal flora
- take antacids to optimize stomach pH
- eat often, small portions
- avoid coffee, oily/chilly/spicy foods
- eat healthy foods (fruits, vegetables, yogurt, etc.)

If one week after such changes you won't have improvement, should consult with your physician for further evaluations.

Hope it was of help!
