Question: hello doctor i am 22 years old girl. i am 76kgs weight and 149 cm height. i had thyroid problem of higher secretion of thyroid glands, due to which i used to have sudden weight gain rapidly. now there is no such weight gain changes , its maintained same 76kgs and recent 2 to 3 test reports are normal , i dint take medicines but tried exercise only. i am confident that by physical exercise i will fight with thyroid as much as possible.
but REAL PROBLEM is my lover is feeling bad about my physic , he complaints that in these 4 years from after started loving him i gave only dissapointment in weight loss. in midst i came down to 64.5 kg but again got back to 76 kg bcz i am at home for these one year after college. whenever he points my obesity as an issue and if i dint loose he may choose breakup i am hurted a lot.
i know he wont break up but he wishes me to go physically fit and so if it reprogresses he will talk to me when i am fit. i know it takes years to change. but i many times i FEEL BAD AND THOUGHT OF SUICIDING. my lover just wishes to be fit and so he is strict to me, but my family members insult me. many of my lovers friend say that i am not like his lover but like his elder sister. it all hurts me . what if i loose my partner if i am like this? i myself feel uncomfortable during sex with him i am not satisfied myself ...
what i need is
to build some selfconfidence
to block negative thoughts in my mind
and want to be fit and wear new dresses bought by my lover
finally to break those fun on me.

Brief Answer:
First take right decisions

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.

I have gone through the details in query and understand your concerns.

Although your approach is quite different from what a informed person takes but the confidence you have about physical exercise is really commendable.

Regarding the thyroid issue I like to inform you that thyroid is not something which can be manged by physical exercise. In addition it is not only a disease of person it can have very bad effect on future generation like mental retardation or physical abnormalities. Even the persistence of wight at 76 kg which is equal to BMI of 33 is indicative of thyroid problem.

I like to further point out that abnormality of thyroid is associated with depression and ideas of suicide. Even your point abut loss of pleasure during sex or having ideas of death could be due to thyroid.

So in my opinion taking thyroid medication will solve most of the problems you are having. You need to understand that problems are not due to circumstantial factors but due to ongoing thyroid issues.

I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards.
