Question: Well, the deep sobbing Has stopped. He is able and has been going to work now. He has had some contact now w his ex girlfriend, which seemed to help some. She has communicated. To him via text why she broke up with him, so at least he has some answers. (She previously just quit talking to him all together, and then he saw a pic of her and another guy ,hr new boyfriend) on his Facebook page, so it was a lot to handle all st once...Now he is just so negative, today he said he wanted to disappear, which scared me. I told him I think it would be a good idea to see someone to help him work through some things, but he said no, they just want my money. He just got through spending $6thousand on acupuncture treatments for the nerves in his elbows, and he has not had any progress. At this point, although I've seen some progress, he says nothing makes him happy, and that he has nothing. I tell him he's not alone, I'm here and we will work on it together, it works for a little while, but then he is still negative. Every suggestion I give, he has something negative to say about it.

Brief Answer:
I understand

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

Although we discussed the need for professional help last month but I think you are not able to make any roads till date which happens because a person with depression sees everything in negative perspect and it becomes difficult to convince him.

I think there is need to make more consistent effort to get him to the professional.

In addition the following things make him more comfortable with his post break up depression.

1. Regular physical exercise- I understand it is again difficult but somebody can accompany him to nearby garden or leisure activity place.

2. Having regular sleep.

3. Giving him some work, specially rediscovering his hobbies

4. Using bright light during early morning, it may be sunlight

5. Having some motivational videos or audios

6. Self help books

I hope this helps you and the young guy to recover from the current situation.
Thanks and regards.
