Brief Answer:
quetiapine can be stopped, upload rorschach test

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

Lithium is used to treat bipolar depression or resistant depression. From your history I do not feel that there is borderline personality disorder as you are functioning well.
Quetiapine in dose of 25 mg is not much helpful for anything except sleep. If you are getting more sleep than the required I think it should be stopped.
10 mg dose of fluoxetine is in low dose it should be 20 mg. However if you are better with lithium other option is to stop fluoxetine.
Considering your profession and understanding about the psychiatric problem I think you can stop medicine in future.
Regular CBT will help.
I would like to suggest one more book 'Feeling Good' by XXXXXXX burns. It can help a lot if someone can digest it well.
I am not aware about Dr. XXXXXXX but yes visiting a new psychiatrist may help to re-evaluate diagnosis and treatment approach.

Let me know some answers:

- Please upload your rorschach test report.

- Why lithium was started? Was there episode of mania or hypomania? If you do not know please ask your doctor.

- What were the symptoms when your treatment begun?

- Is there any current symptom or are you almost normal?

I will be happy to help further after your response.

Dr.Chintan Solanki.

i was in severe depression at the start of my treatment. i used to panic and cry in pressurised conditions or negative results. i was almost on bed rest.due to modafiline i became more active and that treatment was stopped by my new doctor.so the mania was induced due to drugs. when i ask my doctor what exactly i have he says some traits of borderline with anxiety and depression. but i read a lot about borderline and i dont feel like i have those symptoms. during treatment i got married to a girl after 1.5 year of relationship. she knew i had anxiety and depression issues. but after my marriage in december 2014 she started reacting weird. and left me saying that she cant live with a mad person. though i was normal. she has filed a case of fraud against me. on behalf of my medicine she is claiming that i have bipolar disorder and cant be cured. i am not a person who can have a peaceful relationship.that my future generation will be affected too. but on the other hand i am stable as i told earlier i am into teaching profession. and every one respects me as i behave very nicely with everyone and fully dedicated towards my work. right now also i am working efficiently after the tragedy. i do work out in gym, trekking. i am a poet. just that i am sensitive towards people around me. i care for them. because i lost my younger sister when i was 8 years old in accident. it affected me lot. so i am confused that when this will end. my inlaws are in IAS service and they just want to destroy me as they think i committed a big fraud. i belong to a middle class family and only child of my parents.

Brief Answer:
lithium is good drug for bipolar, you should continue for a while

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for some information. Whatever the cause(even with medicine) but if there is episode of mania your depression is bipolar type of depression and lithium is the best drug to treat the same. So your doctor is doing great job.
If you are completely fine at least lithium should be continue for 1 year if it is first episode of depression.

If you have informed your wife about your psychiatric illness before marriage it is not at all fraud.
And bipolar illness in current medical practice is completely treatable condition. But yes in most of the cases treatment is very long or may be lifelong.

Considering your profession and other talents you can try to stop medicines in future under medical supervision with supportive psychotherapy.

However in any case if you need to take lithium for long no need to worry at all. It is better to be stable with medicines rather suffering.

About legal matter treating doctor can help more.

Feel free to discus further.
