default
Posted on Sat, 29 Nov 2014
Question: 33 yrs. TTC since last 4 yrs. Having PCOD. never get regular period from the beginning. Tried 4 IUI already.
In first IUI had ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube on XXXXXXX 2014. Only right tube exist
In rest of the IUI could not conceive
Now my prob is that-
last period was on 20th sept. Did continuous follicular scanning to know the growth. Got ovulated from right on 17th Oct (as per internal scanning) i.e on my 28th day. had only one follicle with size 18mm
Till now did not get my period, 18 days post ovulation. Did HPT 2 times but Got negative result. Not having any pregnancy symptom like no nausea, no breast tenderness . I was supposed to get period on 1st i.e 14 days after ovulation.

I am having period like cramp and mind pain in lower abdomen since last 4-5 days and also having lowerback ache

Ovulated on 17th Oct. Its is been 19th day
Please suggest
1- is it possible that i ovulated, but will not get my period even though i am not pregnant
2- What may be the other reason not to get my period.
3- Got 2 negative result from home preg test. Is it possible to get the -ve result even after 4-5 days of missed period.

I am really upset and worried now. Had lot of hope :(

Brief Answer:
Serum beta hCG blood test

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Following are my reply for your queries;

1. It is possible that you have ovulated but still your periods could be delayed though there is no pregnancy.

2. the possible reason for delayed periods in you could be polycystic ovary, stress, or change of place.

3. it is possible to get negative results on home pregnancy test even after 5 days of missed periods.

4. better get serum beta hCG blood test to confirm pregnancy.

Thanks Dr for your response.

I have done a bita hcg test today. Will get the report tomorrow.

I am having period like cramp, mild lower abdomen pain from past 4-5 days. Also lower weist pain. Initially I was thinking it could be because may be I am pregnant. As my period was miss.
But I already got -ve result in HPT.

Now I am worried whether it is due to any pelvic infection disease or may be a another ectopic :(
Whether this can be a reason for my delay in period.
What can be the other reason for this cramp.

XXXX

Brief Answer:
premenstrual

Detailed Answer:
Hi

These symptoms can also occur during premenstrual period. Hence are not specific for pregnancy alone or ectopic ( both are unlikely though)

Hence you are getting these cramps. Confirmation can only be done after serum beta hCG blood test
