Brief Answer:
Hormonal disturbances should be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy, stress or hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactemia or polycystic ovarian disease.
If there is no chance of pregnancy or there is no history of any sexual activity, then the hormonal disturbances should be confirmed.
You should get your thyroid hormone levels , prolactin levels and ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis.
Regestrone tablets is given both for postponing the periods as well as for inducing periods.
You can take Regestrone for inducing periods without getting a scan done.
The periods usually occur within 3-5 days of stopping the drug.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
