Suggest Treatment For Darkness In The Underarms
Question: Hi,
My wife has some darkness in the underarms. Skin specialist suggested that the darkness is due to sweating and pigmentation. He prescribed one cream for reducing the sweating. The cream worked but unfortunately, she forgot the name of cream. Can you please suggest some OTC cream for this purpose.
Also, what should she do for darkness due to underwear.

1) Acanthosis nigricans- it is characterised by hyperpigmented and thickening of skin of involved area. It is more common in Diabetics and obese people.
2) Tinea - it is fungal infection of skin characterised by itchy red or hyperpigmented skin. It is more common in Diabetics , hot humid weather and those who have excess sweating.
3) Hyperhidrosis- it is a condition of excess sweating.
Yout doctor has already diagnosed the excess sweating as a cause. Various creams are available in market containing aluminium hydroxide as main component which reduce sweating like Aldry lotion Noswet lotion . These are helpful in reducing sweating.
But at most of the places , prescription is required for such medications.
