Suggest Treatment For Dark Patches Above The Eyes When Diagnosed With Rheumatoid Arthritis

default
Posted on Fri, 24 Jul 2015
Question: I've been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and treated for it with methotrexate, remicade and occasional prednisone (as needed). About a year (maybe two), I began to develop dark patches, blue-black in color, above my eyes in the brows and along the upper part of my jaws near the ears. What might the issues be?

Brief Answer:
Please send the pics.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that you need to send the photographs of the lesion for us to see what kind of lesions they can be as it does not seem related to any of these drugs that you have mentioned . It seems more like healed small purpural patches which seem non specific at this age .

So it needs to be seen what kind of rash you are talking about . Also send any recent blood reports if you have got any . Please feel free to ask any query if you have .

Take care.

I've done some follow-up research and the dark patches referred to (not a rash), above eyes and on jaws appear to be related to a thyroid problem. I'll make an appointment with my rheumatologist for testing.
