Suggest Treatment For Cystic Fibrosis In Child

Question: I was told by my son that my 12 year old grand-daughter, who has Cystic Fibrosis, has a discolored patch behind her right ear with swelling beneath it. She felt no discomfort until my daughter-in-law pushed on the swelling. They haven't yet made an appointment with a doctor, but hope to have her with doctor within the next two weeks. How urgent is this?

Brief Answer:
Not an emergency as it is not bothering the kid

Detailed Answer:
hi...By what you quote this seems to be like a lymph node and if it is not bothering the kid in any way we can wait. It is not an emergency. This can occur in this area even with seborrhea or dandruff of the scalp and small injury to the scalp too.

But if the lymph node is increasing in size sharply or is associated with fever, then with her background illness in mind, I would suggest you to take her to emergency room immediately. Otherwise it is not an emergency.

But you said there is also a discolored patch over the area. Skin conditions are best diagnosed only after seeing directly. I suggest you to upload photographs of the same on this website, so that I can guide you scientifically.
