Suggest Treatment For Cyst On The Ovaries

default
Posted on Sat, 19 Dec 2015
Question: Hi I had a cyst on my left ovary which was ruptured. I am 27 years old. The cyst was hemarrogic and it was bleeding plus there was a lot of fluid in my abdomen. I had to undergo a laparoscopy to remove the cyst. The doctor said my ovaries stayed intact but it was a cystectomy. My worry is that is it possible that the ovaries are really intact even if they had to remove a cyst on it? I am just very afraid that there has been damage done but from what the doctor said and what I read in the results is that it was a laparoscopic cyctectomy of a hemarroghic cyst. Can u pleas help me? I am meeting the doctor in a few days but I would like to know more and feel a bit more assured. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Yes,your ovary is intact.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting hcm about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
With your history it is very much clear that only cyst is removed and your ovary is intact.
So do not take so much stress,it is only cyst which was removed.
Hope found useful, feel free to discuss more information.
Good luck.

Thank you for your answer.
What concerned me a lot is whenever I look up laparascopy for removal of ovarian cysts the stories around it always comes with removal of ovaries or tubes which made me panick to be honest. How come I dont read any story or situation where only the cyst was removed and the ovary was not touched? Is it not very common?

Brief Answer:
It is very common.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Sorry for the delay in my response.
No it is not always like that during laproscopy usually we can remove cyst without touching ovaries.
So in your case also only cyst was removed but your ovaries are perfectly fine.
Hope found useful.
Good luck.
