Suggest Treatment For Cyst On The Kidneys
Question: Message for dr XXXXXXX Hello a while ago you answer a question regarding a cysts in my kidney. I had a cat scan with contrast and the written report read as follows:
Multiple small cysts are present bilaterally especially on the left. They are mostly parapelvic cysts.
As you can see there is not mention to the cyst. found on the sonogram that make me feel very concern. The urologist told me not to worry. But the "Funny thing " is that the scan was read by the same radiologist that read the sonogram.
Any comments? ????

Para pelvic cysts can sometimes lead to the following issues
1. Blood in urine
2. Lumbar pain
3. Fever and urinary tract infections
Multiple cysts can mean that you might be suffering from a congenital problem called autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease.
I recommend you to do the following
1. Ace/Arb like Telmesartan, enalapril, once a day for protection of the kidneys
2. Tab Atorvastatin once at night
3. Check your creatinine atleast once a year
4. Test your children for this cystic disease once they are beyond 20
