Question: I have fallen and fractured my ulna, while my thumb and forefinger were outstretched. I feel this was ablessing because I am a 49 year old female who has done hairdressing for 30 yrs. Have had mri and my doctor did not know for 3 days shy of a month! This is crazy especially when I gave the ortho my report. there are problems with my sheath in the carpal tunnel area, a cyst somewhere as I don't have the report anymore. I am in agony and my primary has a month off and the ortho I see again Friday as he works Monday and Friday, waiting on an emg.Do I have a problem with the sheath area of the carpal tunnel or anything else

It has been 6weeks and this morning I got out of my bed by rolling on my fist of my right hand, my bad! plus 2 weeks ago I worked with my broken wrist? My primary said its not that bad, his nurse said its quite painful. the ortho was so busy that he is overloaded! It hurts to type, to say pinch, maybe light a lighter.
I generally go into XXXXXXX Have had c5-c7 fusion. one bone spur by Dr. Diane English and my fusion by Dr. XXXXXXX Martin! It is killing me and we have 1EMG doctor who I,ve seen 20 times but come on, I can't get that test before the ortho appointment this Friday. I have shooting pains in my thumb and top of thumb! I have a tens unit on to try to get away from the pain. my primary gets a month off in the middle of my injury. I am FRUSTRATED AND IN PAIN!my son was home with mono twice and I have an 11yr old who plays a lot of softball, not getting better, and my hands have been bothering for 3 months, this fracture is blessing

Brief Answer:
Take mild pain killers.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
A cyst in the carpal tunnel area is treated according to the severity of the symptoms. It is usually a benign inflammatory cyst. If the cyst is small and there are no nerve compression symptoms like pain or numbness or weakness in the fingers then there is no need to worry. mild anti inflammatory drugs will help in decreasing the symptoms. In case the cyst is a big one with compression symptoms then surgical removal of the cyst will help.
You can wait till Friday for your scheduled appointment with orthopedician and get the necessary medicines prescribed for relief.
I hope this answers your query.
