Brief Answer: .... Detailed Answer: Hi there... Thanks for writing in. If this cyst was an incidental finding on a routine Ultrasound examination, don't worry about it. Just follow up yearly, to make sure there are no other changes . Approximately 50 percent of persons older than 50 years have one or more renal cysts. Simple cysts are usually asymptomatic.... However, in the presence of symptoms, like hematuria (blood in urine), abdominal/back pain, palpable mass , or fever with chills etc, You would require further evaluation for which you need to consult a urologist and get a renal CT done. Hope I have answered your query. Do get back to me for further clarifications, if any. Regards, Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan

Brief Answer: ... Detailed Answer: Hi there.... I would advise you to continue Aristozyme and Pantocid as prescribed by your treating physician. I feel your symptoms might be attributed to acidity or indigestion. In addition try to do the following: Have smaller frequent meals rather than 3 large meals. Have bland food like rice gruel with salt to taste, curd rice etc. Avoid spicy, oily , fatty and acidic food. Avoid carbonated beverages, tea and coffee. Avoid smoking and alcohol. Drink warm water at regular intervals. Regular exercise 30 minutes a day 5 days a week. Pantoprazole (pantocid) might help reduce symptoms of acidity. In spite of all these measures and medications,if symptoms persist, do visit a gastroenterologist. Hope this information was helpful to you. Regards, Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan.

Brief Answer: ... Detailed Answer: For how long did your treating physician prescribe the medication ? If it was just a mild case of acidity or digestion, and if you are feeling completely ok now, then continue Pantocid for another 3 days. Stop Aristozyme. Regards, Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
