Suggest Treatment For Cut On The Penis Head
Question: Hi,
I've cut the head of my penis where the urea tract is removing a cock ring and have been applying 6% lydocaine and 4% prilocaine cream every 2-3hours to the top half of my penis for 2 days to reduce discomfort. However after 2 days my penis got very swollen, especially top part by the head. With ulceration and blisters of the head. It has been 6 days since now the swelling is reducing very slowly and there is still ulceration on the head. Is there anything I could use to help the healing ?

Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concern.
I have gone through the photos you provided and noted the swelling and discharge and ulcer; the tip of your penis seems to be infected. Antibiotics should be started.
Get back to the surgeon who did the circumcision and ask to start antibiotics (orally or by injection or even locally).
Continue with good hygiene. Applying chamomile compresses can also help. However, still thinking antibiotics are a must.

Hi,
I did not have circumsision just a cut on the head of the penis. I think I overdosed the topical cream and that is why I got the swelling..
I can't see my Gp till Monday now.
Do you think I could use hydrocortisone 1% cream till Monday to help to reduce the swelling?

I do not think you should wait until Monday; if cannot see your doctor, then, go to ER.
Otherwise:
- wash with warm water and diluted baby shampoo
- rinse thoroughly
- rinse with chamomile tea
- keep applying chamomile compresses (chilled or cold, not warm)
- if still swollen, get an antibiotic ointment at your local drug store and apply locally
along with hydrocortisone 1% cream
