Brief Answer:
Test for swine flu may be needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Most of the respiratory infections in this age are due to viral infections.Among viral infections flu virus is the most common. There can be various types of flu viruses, one of which is swine flu(H1N1) virus.

Most of the flu illness subsides within 4-5 days after conservative treatment. Swine flu infection is considered to be serious as it can cause severe pneumonia and respiratory failure. Nausea and vomiting more commonly occurs in swine flu than in other seasonal flu. Children, elderly and patient with chronic diseases are more vulnerable to develop complications.

As fever has subsided it suggests there is improvement. But I would suggest you to consult your pediatrician for the need of swine flu test because of
1)his age group
2)vomiting
3)There is an outbreak of swine flu in XXXXXXX

Continue giving asthalin.Give him ondem for the vomiting.Sometimes severe cough itself may cause vomiting. He may need antiallergic and nasal decongestant like chlorpheniramine, phenylephrine (drops or syrup under physician supervision to relieve the cold and cough.

I will be glad to answer if you have any further query.
Regards
