Suggest Treatment For Cough And Cold

Question: I have had a cough and fever for a week now, and my doctor is not working because of Christmas. How do I know if I need antibiotics to get well?

I am not feeling better with the things I have tried. This is why I am asking about antibiotics. I have brownish yellow sputum coming up when I cough. And I am still running a fever. If I take ibuprofen every 4 hours, I can limit the fever, but it keeps coming back. Please advise....

I believe you would need antibiotics at this point with no improvement. Unfortunately, these are medications that can only be obtained through your prescribing doctor. I will recommend that you try to get the script as soon as possible by talking to another doctor or using the ER if there is no other way out.
