Brief Answer:
Furnish details about ART and CD4 counts

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.

Your mother is having urinary tract infection. It has to be treated appropriately.
MRI report says she is going for some serious condition of central nervous system (PML).
It indicates her drugs for HIV are not effective satisfactorily and it is the time to consider a switch over to some other combination of ART.
You had not mentioned about her CD4 count (4 recent counts done within two years). That will predict whether she is responding to treatment or not. Viral load test also is essential to predict her condition. Persistent cough may be due to many reason. Even a drug can cause persistent cough. Government ART centers are not having adequate choices. Consult a physician who i s expert in HIV management.

Brief Answer:
Inj. Amikacin is good and cost effective choice of antibiotic to cure UTI

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

As per the culture and sensitivity report. Injection Amikacin 500 mg twice daily for 7-10 days would be effective and safer as far as her urinary tract infection is concerned. This is a prescription medicine.

May I expect further details of your mother to continue this conversation.
